“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” -Matthew 5:6
Light versus dark, bad versus good, evil versus righteousness is a trope in many works of fiction nowadays, whether blockbuster movies or books. We all like being strong enough to weather the storm, apt enough to take on the behemoth, and smiling back when death gives us an evil grin.
However, the sad reality is that righteousness does not always prevail over evil. Sometimes, you will fall short no matter how hard you try, scratch, and claw at success and try to get what you deserve. There will be times when obstacles hinder your path toward happiness, leaving you in pain. Sometimes, your version of goodwill fails, leaving you to believe that the war is lost.
But take heart. This is not indeed the case.
It is written:
“4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” – 1 John 5:4
You may look at adversity and assess the possible ways to win the battle. But what if you were told that the war had already been won?
According to the verse above, God has already declared victory over evil. Hence, rest assured, evil never has the authority to trump good unless you give it the power to.
The key is to remain faithful, knowing that your strength comes from none other than God. There will be hardships and situations where you will have your back against the wall. But that’s the test. You either have two choices:
1. To succumb to your darkness, becoming bitter about life and the people around you.
2. Fight the uncertainty and darkness with bravery and might.
Author Keith A. Thomas Jr. presents an epic battle between good and evil in his upcoming book, Sacrificial Lambs. The story takes us back to Genesis, when a secret experiment was conducted in Heaven. One which consisted of combining the DNA of a reptilian humanoid with the celestial chemistry of an angel. The experiment had gone wrong, and now, the fate of the Vatican depends on a young angel named Darr, a pistol-packing pope with a dirty conscience and a few ragtag cardinals with baggage of their own. The story encapsulates the unique relationship between God and His angels, God and man, and the testing of ordinary beings when challenged by the supernatural.
Sacrificial Lambs is now available on Amazon.
